Aboriginal Specific Services
What services do we provide?
Our Homelessness Services work closely with you on your journey out of homelessness, with support, advice and advocacy. We want to reduce your risk by sticking with you through the tough times, acting promptly when you need us and responding early to prevent you being without a home.
Our Aboriginal Specific Services are provided through Western Adelaide Aboriginal Specific Homelessness Service and Kurlana Tampawardli (KT).

Western Adelaide Aboriginal Specific Homelessness Service
How can we help?
Our Western Adelaide Aboriginal Specific Homelessness Service offers supported transitional and crisis accommodation that meets the holistic needs of Aboriginal people.
This service is provided by our Alliance partner, Aboriginal Sobriety Group Indigenous Corporation (ASG), and is delivered through a healing lens that supports you through your journey of sobriety.
ASG offers a culturally safe place for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We aim to work in partnership with you to address the causes of your homelessness, acting promptly when you need us, and responding early to prevent you being at risk of homelessness and/or without a home.
What support do we offer?
We can help you to:
- Navigate access to the right support, at the right time with the right service
- Find and maintain housing including on site crisis accommodation
- Access case management support that meets your needs, including Proof of Aboriginality
- Access referrals to other services
- Live independently
- Access education, employment and training
- Obtain guidance from Aboriginal elders
- Engage with Aboriginal communities

Our staff are available Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm.

Who can access these services?
Individuals (aged over 18) and families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Kurlana Tampawardli (KT)
How can we help?
Kurlana Tampawardli is Kaurna for ‘new house on the plains’.
Our focus is on supporting your and your family’s needs in a culturally safe way. We can work with you if you are at risk of rough sleeping or overcrowding in your home.
What support do we offer?
We can help you to:
- Return to country using ‘safe tracking’. This service supports people who have been sleeping rough or living in crowded housing in Adelaide and wish to return home.
- Find and maintain housing, including onsite crisis accommodation at Hendon
- Access case management support that meets your needs
- Access referrals to other services
- Live independently
- Get involved in your community
- Access education, employment and training

Our team is available Monday to Sunday, 8am – 12pm.

Who can access these services?
Individuals (aged over 18) and families at risk of rough sleeping or overcrowding.
Our crisis accommodation is for people visiting Adelaide from a rural area and at risk of sleeping rough.
Where do we offer support?
The Kurlana Tampawardli (KT) service is delivered by our alliance partner organisation Uniting Communities.
Kurlana Tampawardli (KT) delivers services and support to those at risk of or experiencing homelessness in the following council areas:
